Record Store Day 2015 at Other Music
Saturday, April 18, is Record Store Day 2015, the annual celebration of independent record shops, vinyl, and passionate record collectors. It's a huge day for Other Music, and all the other great stores we love. We will be open from 10am-8pm with a huge stock of exclusive RSD titles on hand (no, we can't tell you what and how many, but there is a full listing of all the official releases here). There will be some fun giveaways, including a pair of amazing special edition Dogfish Head Crosley portable turntables from our buddies (and official RSD beer sponsor) Dogfish Head Craft Brewery. To enter for your chance to win one of these record players, Tweet or Instagram something RSD-related while you're at Other Music on Saturday, and then tag your post with #RSD15, @dogfishbeer, and @othermusic (Twitter) or @other_music (Instagram). And we are hosting three very special in-store performances throughout the day, from three incredible artists whose boundary-pushing visions remind us why we care so much about indie music in the first place: 75 Dollar Bill at Noon, Matana Roberts at 3pm, and Laraaji at 5pm! -

Dogfish Head and Other Music Bring Analog-A-Go-Go to NYC!
We're always excited to get together with our friends from Dogfish Head Craft Brewery for some great music and beer, and after trekking to their Delaware brewery for the last few years for the always awesome Analog-A-Go-Go vinyl market, beer and craft festival, we convinced them to take it on the road and set up shop in New York! On Sunday, December 14, we are hosting a very special party with Dogfish Head and Eataly, featuring rare beers, great food, some amazing handpicked craft vendors, and records! Other Music will be curating a selection of our favorite LPs of the year, as well as a ton of other vinyl goodies. We'll also be DJing some of the best music of 2014, and we invited Steve Gunn to perform too! All the details are after the jump and tickets are limited and on sale now. (The 2 to 5 p.m. session is now sold out but there are still a handful of tickets available for the second session from 6 to 9 p.m.) We hope you will join us for this premiere edition of Analog-A-Go-Go NYC! -

When Beer & Music Collide
In case you missed last night's Google+ hangout with Dogfish Head Brewery founder and president Sam Calagione, author and social media guru Chris Brogan, and Other Music's Amanda, Duane and Josh, it's streaming on YouTube. It was a great exchange with all involved having explored Dogfish Head's music-inspired series of beers beforehand -- Bitches Brew (Miles Davis), Hellhound on My Ale (Robert Johnson), Olde School (the Mekons), and Postive Contact (Deltron 3030) -- while listening to the respective artist that the brew had been paired with. Afterwards, everyone got together for a fun, and often hilarious hour-long video chat, talking (and drinking) beer...

Dogfish Head Craft Brewery Hangout This Wednesday Night
Over the past couple of years Other Music has struck up a friendship with the Dogfish Head Brewery -- we love their amazing beer, and those guys really love music -- and they have invited us to join in on a special event celebrating their line of album-inspired brews. Tomorrow evening (Wednesday, November 28), Other Music's Amanda, Josh and Duane will be exploring a series of beer and music pairings designed by Dogfish Head; we will listen to Miles Davis while we drink Bitches Brew, Robert Johnson accompanied by Hellhound on My Ale, the Mekons while we drink Olde School,...
