Apr 15, 2016 Record Store Day: April 16, 2016 This Saturday is Record Store Day, the annual celebration of independent record shops, vinyl, and passionate record collectors! Indeed, it's a huge day for Other Music, and all the other great stores we love. We will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. with a huge stock of exclusive RSD titles on hand, and while we can't tell you what and how many, there is a full listing of all the official releases here. From 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Nate Hun (record collector and associate producer of Don't Think I've Forgotten: Cambodia's Lost Rock and Roll) will be DJing '60s and '70s Khmer rock 'n' roll, including music from the film's Dust-to-Digital released soundtrack, right off the original singles. This will be in conjunction with an exhibit that will be on display at the shop beginning this Saturday, featuring the gorgeous, original record sleeves of rare Cambodian 45s. Our good friends at (Le) Poisson Rouge are also offering a pretty sweet contest. On Twitter, tag @LPRNYC and @othermusic along with #RSD16 in a photo of your Record Store Day receipt. One lucky person will receive an LPR School of Fish membership, LPR t-shirt, and tickets to an upcoming LPR show of the winner's choice! See you at Other Music this Saturday, Record Store Day!
